Thought it about time I shared this...
Got the '79 GLS just over 3 years ago - was told it was a barn find - all I can say is it must of been a barn belonging to Nemo!!
After collecting 2 new cills, 2 new wings, 2 new wheel arches, 2 new doors - (when I say new you know I mean new old) the welding began!
Patches on both sides - inner wings, accross both wing tops, back of indicators, down door posts, both sides inner floor, 2 new chassis mounting points, 2 rear wheel arches, new rear panel - pretty much everything really - the list goes on...
Then we rolled her over, stripped and painted underneath ( including petrol tank, powder coat to subframe, and poly-bushed)
Panelled-up, primed and painted - extensively - over and over and over again (says my wife!!) whilst I practised my spray skills! (& Wily on the tank!)
New headliner fitted, Corrado interior, with modified front and rear seats were all covered in gorgeous red leather.
Then work halted, as I collected and commenced work on my Palma green German aquisition - just to ensure she was worthy of our fickle British roads, you understand.
So now I'm back on the Wily Coyote - hoping to complete by the end of the year (hoping! - my wife again!!)
