yet again this year we have a cold snap and my battery went dead as a doornail. anyone else get this problem or is it just me? ive got a 56ah battery just bought last year because the cold killed my last one. its one of those maintenance free batteries. am i wasting my time? should i just invest in a battery from vw??

i always fit "brandname" batteries - lucas, bosch, varta, deta etc. and only ones with at least a 3 year guarantee, preferably more. a battery with a 1 year guarantee has only 1 year for a reason ;)

A Bosch 54 ah battery for a MK2 Scirocco from ECP will set you back about £35 and it comes with a 3 year warranty, bargain in my books!

Standard Batteries are sometimes better IMO as a lot of the time if you top them up and leave on trickle charge for a while you can bring them back from the dead.
