Re: Introduce yourself
Welcome rattyscala, I always like to see another Scirocco on the road being used and always good to see something different, what’s the point of having a really clean shiny car that you are scared to use in case it gets a Stone chip, mud on it or wet, then keep it in a locked garage so no one sees it... it’s all about driving them as that’s what Sciroccos are for, a drivers car.
It is nice to see some really clean examples and hats off to all which do have show cars, I couldn’t have one as I would just drive it...
Lower brace is a good idea, what ever you do don’t polly bush the engine mounts it will rattle your teeth out!
Plenty of exhaust choices out there, original roof bars are tricky to find.
We are always here to help so if you need anything just ask.

Re: Introduce yourself
Afternoon,
I've recently started getting a hankering for a Mk2 Scirocco. I'm scouring the web looking for something that'll suit me at the moment. I've got a decent VW history but never had a Scirocco.
I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions before and during ownership :)

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi everyone, first time 'Rocco owner here after wanting one for a number of years. I have a white '90 GT2 that has been owned by a few members on here already, one of which I met at the NEC yesterday! I understand it went to the Swiss Alps too, I've been trying to find a thread about it but haven't had much luck. I bought the car in June of this year as a project and something to keep me busy. It wasn't running very well when I bought it, it had zero pull at all and kept cutting out. So far since I've had it its had the carb rebuilt, new timing belt, new fuel pump, and a new fuel filter. Now it runs and pulls like a dream! Still a long way to go to get it looking perfect again, but that's all part of the fun. So far I love it, and look forward to getting to know more of you and more about these wonderful cars!

Re: Introduce yourself
Good to chat yesterday Katie.
It was GT Matt on here who owned the car up to 2010 or so for a while and who you also met yesterday.
Welcome aboard!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi I'm Kenny, and owner of far too many golfs so when a new project got offered I snapped it up. Already I've sourced new seats, some p slot alloys, reinforcement bar for behind bumper, grill and bonnet release cable. Next is in to shed to find some MDF and make a new parcel shelf, whilst waiting for service kit for the pierburg carb. Hopefully will get it running a bit better, then tidy it up a little bit. I'm not the best at fixing stuff up but i do tend to get them running and looking better than I receive them. Have no previous history other than a service and lasts years mot so will be interested to find out if it ever was looked after. Everything seems there just nothing looked after in a while.
