reverse lights blow the fuse every time i put it in reverse

reverse lights blow the fuse every time i put it in reverse

as above but i found two wire hanging in the boot witch i think to be the reverse light wires where do they plug on to the light or am they part ov my loom 2 the light cheers

Depends on the colour of them. You checked the wiring diagram in Haynes? (It is actually quite good so long as the wiring hasn't been messed about with)

cheers m8 will have a cheak im 99% on them being the wires just couldnt see where they go lol thanks

If they are brown they will be earthing wires, in which case they should be attached to a stud / nut in the centre of the rear slam panel area.

na ive got them connected ive had a better look 2day the wires seem like they ar 2 a light in the boot as the interior boot light is missing so that mush be what they was off but reverse lights still pop my fuse lol cheers

What rating fuse do you have in, it should be 10 amp?

yh thats what ive been trying stuck really carnt find any fault yet it blows everytime

unplug the wires from the top of the switch on the gearbox (should be just 2 wires) and connect them together. your reverse lights should then be on (prob need to turn ign on)

assuming they are, your switch is buggered

The switches can be bought from the dealers or GSF.

Check the connections to your rear lights & you clusters for water. Maybe corrosion or water shorting out when switched on. Disconnect both clusters and put in reverse. Check the terminals with a multimeter for voltage.
