The Rules - PRICES ON ALL ITEMS PLEASE

This area is for PRIVATE SELLERS only. We define private sellers as people wanting to move on the odd surplus item here and there. Mods will check up on any threads that appear to break this golden rule and we can compare IP addresses with any non-private sellers who have tried to list on the old forum. Take it as a given that if you are selling more than e.g. one set of alloy wheels a month that we will assume you are a non private seller.

All items must be priced individually, 'ono' is fine, and of course it goes without saying that pictures do help you sell stuff quicker

Please indicate where you are based if items are for local pick up only

If people can't be bothered to list individual items where whole cars are being broken they will have to list all contact details including Name, Contact Number, a general location and/or email address. A mod will then lock the thread to cut down on endless questions and answers re 'where are you based?', 'do you have a bonnet?', 'what wheels are on it'?'

Please do not list NON VW related items on this forum

Where an item is also listed on Ebay or similar sites please clearly state this on your thread, no 'link only' threads allowed. You WILL have to put a price up on here that you are willing to accept regardless of what starting/reserve/buy it now price you have on ebay.
This includes links to your own for sale threads on other car forums.

If you have spotted an item that is not yours on another forum or ebay please feel free to post up clearly stating what the item is and that it is not yours.

Do not conduct negotiations via the thread, go direct. This includes 'bit expensive isn't it?' type observations........
Finally - We have been very lucky with the small number of dodgy sellers found to be operating on the old forum. While the Scirocco Register cannot be held liable for any dispute arising between buyers and sellers on this forum we do advise particular caution when dealing with sellers for the first time.

Any advert not following these simple guidelines will be removed or edited without notification as appropriate by a Mod.

a couple of quick edits based on recent observations -

Sellers are not obliged to accept 'first dibs' type undertakings from people if they have firm offers/cash received from other firmer prospects - although to make life simpler for all it's worth highlighting in for sale threads that 'FIRST DIBS' pleas will not count for anything.

ALSO - if you are selling multiple items please combine them into one advert as opposed to a string of individual threads.

in response to a suggestion re 'trusted members' re selling stuff on here.

We would like (but not force) people to pop a post up on any for sale thread they have bought from indicating goods safely received. This keeps things up to date but without opening up a can of worms re if a specific transaction has gone wrong in any way.

Please can all sellers always refer to the 'rules' before posting threads up - ditto for buyers of course.

Another tip - New/first time sellers on here should always supply full contact details including a postal address if a buyer requests this.
