Help with problem diagnosis

Hi I'm having a couple of problems with my rocco and wondered if anyone might be able to help if I explained the problems. Basically my car starts from cold absolutely fine and will run fine. After a while the revs increase to 1400ish and it still drives ok. If i stop the engine restarts first time with virtually no hesitation. Leave it for 20 minutes and it will struggle to start but with a little persuasion from the throttle it will start and run ok. On my way back from picking up some seats the car also started to rev to 2000 revs inbetween gear shifts but if I put the car in neutral it goes back to 1400. Also as an aside it seems to behave better going down hill :hehe: I have replaced the pierburg with another pierburg and it has been fine until last week when these prblems started.

Any ideas as to my problems would be much appreciated?

cheers,

Johnny

Have you checked your Vac pipes?

Nope haven't checked those. I'm not brilliant technically or mechanically. I know that the vacuum lines were changed before I bought the car. Will have a look tomorrow. Its just behaving rather strangly.

Throttle cable might be sticking, or the spring that returns the throttle on the carb might be worn.
Trying hooking your foot under the accelerator peddle and give it a pull when it happens, i've had to do this many times when i had a spring issue on my carb.

Believe it or not but the car now behaves perfectly today. Lifes never boring when driving a rocco.
