hi,
my intension for the car is to be quick and just fun to drive

this is more for me to have a list of what im wanting to do with it and what i have done :D
ill start with some pics
Image

thats how its sitting at the moment, standard rims painted black with gti red trims and center caps.
Image

part way through a strip down ages ago
Image
the worst bit of rust on the car, one of a few patches :nerner: Image
Image

anyway, what i want to do to it:
bodywork
full re-spray in helios blue, every panel needs something doing to it so why not?
single wiper on it,
while its getting stripped for the re spray im gonna smooth off a few things like the wiper hole and the boot lock and de badge the rear, i want to have a stab at filling the roof bar things.

suspension/steering/brakes
coilover kit for it.
full polly bush kit,
better antiroll bars,
strut brace + lower and rear,
new tie rod ends and all that kind of stuff,

now the brakes, i was gonna put on some vauxhall front stoppers but im thinking now mk3 golf gti front and back?any thoughts?
what ever i put on ill be getting uprated disks and pads.

engine
gonna leave the 1.8 8v in for a bit, till i choose what to drop in :?
ive got a weber on it, and ive ditched the spikey preheater inthe manifold.
got a gti cam to go on,
4 branch manifold,
port and polishing,
balanced and lightened flywheel,
i want to blueprint it bit its a but of an effort if im gonna change the engine.
it needs a new rad,

interior
new seats, not sure what yet but im keeping a eye out for something good
cup holder, i have allways wanted one in my cars but never had one. :crying:

that it for now, its gonna be a rolling project as of soon when i start using it again

I started out with a short list... then I found bike carbs.. errr... and a 2E block... and err... Demon Tweaks... and er... ebay.

The list got longer as I started to buy shizzle. Still got a nice surprise yesterday with an £80 paint quote from a respectable place. Happy days :hehe:

got some recaro's off a friend, not sure what they are out of but i think its a ford, a mate thinks they look like escort mexico ones but im not sure......

just need to stick on the front of the old ash try so it looks ok.

been thinking and i want to g60 it, you dont see many g60's in anything around anymore and would be a nice easy conversion.

soon to be moted as i want rid of the corrado :(

Where did you get your inlet manifold done Rich, or was it on the car already when you bought it?

Also, what size jets are you running on the carbs?

i got a mate whos a welder to mak it up, its not bad free

He can make them up if youve got the carbs and a inlet gasget? think he said it abould be abiut £80

Is not the best looking but it bets the job done :)
The jets are 170, £3 each from my local bike parts place.

Still after the loom... but "not that far along" means - I'm relaxed about the whole affair. If it takes 2 years to do it all, I'm happy with that (hence no urgency in getting the loom, lol)

If it's in the way let me know and I'll get it picked up sharpish

Oddly enough.. .I'm down Bradford next week (staying over Monday night coming back up Tuesday) could pop in on the way down or back if it's convenient?

Currently gonna run 36mm Mikunis as I have them, unless a nice set of 40mm mikunis turns up for good money on the 'bay
