Front upper shock mount?

Hi guys,
Could do with some advice, bought a Mk2 Rocco bout 6 months ago and loving it so far.
Recently the drivers front side developed a sag, looking at the front of the car the drivers side is lower than the passenger side(guessing at 10-20mm based on distance from top of wheels to bodykit)
I initially thought it was a collapsed spring but in the last week a rattle has developed from drivers front when hitting bumps, potholes etc. and seems to be getting worse.
Shocks are fine, spring isnt broke (may be collapsed) and jacking the car up and rocking the wheel doesnt show anything obvious and I "think" the bushings are ok. What's the most likely thing to start at? Is there a way to check the front upper shock mount as I hear these can wear out regularly?
Any other suggestions?
Sorry if Im asking dumb questions, but if you dont ask you dont learn
Cheers

The upper mount as you look at it from inside the engine bay should "look" right...if it's cracked, shows obvious distortion (they're supposed to be flat) then it's possibly that that's at fault.

I had the same on mine and replaced both with new, and made a world of difference. But then to be fair, most of the running gear on mine was shot so had to do the whole lot at once.

Top mounts are only about 12 quid from GSF, worth trying these first, if not then it is a process of illimination.

Are you sue the shocks are fine ? the only way to tell for sure is to take the spring off and feel the resistance in the shock. It doesnt have to be leaking oil to be knackered.
