Anywhere we can host the excel file I wrote to compare gearbox ratios/speeds@revs/rev drops/etc?

It's not wonderful, but it works.

And Gear Ratios

Post by Funky Diver »

Thought I'd revisit this thread as I've found a LOT of info over the last week or so.

Long story short... figuring out whether to use my original 020 from my 1.8GT or the Mk3 Golf GTi box. (the GTi box has hall effect speed sensor rather than the cable (which is what I want ;))

http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115595 - has a LOT of info re: gearing ratios for varying boxes. It also has the part numbers for hte speedo drive wheel.
http://www.gearboxman.co.uk/download/gearspeeds.v2.xls - if you want to work out your gearing ratio - speed on various tyres, or are looking to change cogs, this should help you decide which way to go.

The pic isn't working fella.

I'm not sure the hall sender type can be put on the 020. If you need the part number have a search for the digi fizz guide. I know that isn't what you are using but the part will be the same.

Much easier fitting this that converting to cable change! :-)
