Seat material

Post by carlosiw »

Hi everyone. I need to replace the bolster sections of material on my driver's seat. Does any one know where I can get replacement material? The car's a Jade green GTX, and the interior's otherwise in excellent condition. Cheers, Carl

Can't be bought from the dealers anymore! You just have to keep looking, Ebay, here etc. Bear in mind though that Golf GTis of the same era had the same seat material. Even if you get the rear seat it can be used to repair.

To repair my Scala, I bought a Golf cabriolet seat and used some of the material to replace the bolsters.

Happy hunting.

Thought that might be the case! Oh well, might just have to patch it up best I can for now! Cheers, Carl

Get hold of a passenger seat in good condition and take the bits from that.

That's kinda what I was thinking. These cars, including mk2 Golf GTIs, are now generally beyond scrapyard age and we only have one yard on the isle of Wight anyway!
