Only hot from the heaters

Even with the slider all the way over to the blue end of the dial, all I am receiving out of the heater vents is very warm air. Assuming the cable is working properly to adjust the flaps, what would be at fault to cause this? The car does not overheat and the temp gauge registers a normal engine temp.

slide the controll all the way to the cold side then try removing the cable from the valve (in engine bay). With a pair of pillers see if the valve's sliding arm
will move any more.
If it does try the heater again if blows out cold the cable is at fault. If it still blows warm then its the valve. Also if the arm is stiff when you move it with
the pillers then i would say its a dodgy valve. The engine water cause's corrosion making the arm stiff to move.

I have just fixed a problem like this on mine, the valve wasnt closing completely so i had to take part of the centre console out to get to the heater controls, first off i found out that the cable wasnt locked in properly with the retaining clip, so i put it back in the place it should have been but the valve still didnt close properly so i ended up pulling the cable through a bit more and locked it in, it now works a treat.

I also had this problem, but the warm air valve was un the engine bay, not the centre console.
Best test i found was to remove it, set it to closed position and blow down it, i found it was offering almost no resistance so swapped it for another one and havn't had any more problems since
