I bought some plugs from ebay, and need to tell the guy the code.
I have a 1988 GT 1.6

Anyone know the code for those plugs?

Thanks

Whats your engine- is it carb or injection?
Do you know the engine code (EW,DX EX)?

...or FR
If it's for the first ones it will be Champion N7BYC or N7YCC or equivalent.
If for the FR it will be Champion N7YCC or N7YC (or equivalent).
Electrode gap:-
About 0,7 to 0.8 mm. (some have 3 electrodes - just whack them in - they are already adjusted).

Hope this helps, but go to your local car accessory shop - they will help.

Cheers
John

Arrrgh, ive lost the bloody code i had on my phone!

How do i find out my engine code?
Why isn't there just a code for the 1.6 1988?

I bought the plugs from ebay and they are Bosch ones, they need the code for them :dunno:

From the FAQ

http://sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk/faq/ ... p/#more-69

Stock Engines for Mk2
EW - 1.6l 8v carb approx 75BHp
Easy upgrade is to an EX as very little needs to be changed.

EX - 1.8l 8v carb approx 90BHp
Easy upgrade would be a KR on side-draught carbs. Fuel injection requires new pump and fuel lines.

DX - 1.8l 8v K-jet injection approx 110BHp
Easy upgrade would be a KR running K-jet injection.

I know it's a long time replying - hope you sorted it. :?:
The Haynes manual or your local accessory dealer (I've got a good one) should be able to sort you out.
