My GTS

Post by BrummieGTS »

Hi Peeps

I havent been on here for a long time and had to re-register

My name is Tom from Redditch, I have owned my 87' GTS since I was 19, 11 Years ago :shocking:

I still love it but its been in my parents garage for the last few years so I am trying to make time to put it back on the road.

The Spec:

1.8 8v Injection
1.6 GTi ported and polished head
Big Valve Head
Piper Fast Road Cam
Audi 2.0 Throttle Body
9 Bar fuel Pump
TSW Pipercross Airbox
Custom 4-2-1 Manifold
Stainless Roar Pipe
Jetex 3" Stainless
285mm TSW Big Brake Upgrade
Golf Gti Rear Disc Conversion
Monroe Shocks with Jamex Springs (Lowered 35mm)

Couple of Pics but not uptodate as I have taken any since 2003:

Very tidy motor there fella... and oddly, I'm quite drawn to hte air intake on the bonnet (even if it is only cosmetic)

Thanks Guys :yup:

really not keen on the scoop these days, seemed a good idea 10 years ago!!

Need to get rid of my 5 spokes too, I liked them years ago but now I want some 16" Lenso's in black with a chrome lip :vcool:

Does anyone no a good place to get them from?

Nice car, but then I'm biased towards white cars.

Saw the scoop on the bonnet and thought, 'WTF!', glad that you're not keen on it anymore.

Engine bay/bonnet look very tidy, reminds me of a job I need to do.

Im running that along with a Pipercross Induction kit from TSR which sounds awesome!

So I haven't been on here for a while, I did make a bit of progress however had another child and moved house. My car is currently stored at a friends house however I should have it back in the next few weeks so hoping to spend sometime on it over the winter.

Cleaned the airbox a bit as it was looking a little gunky inside.

New wheels, looks a lot better

Thanks mate :)

Yes definitely, somebody offered me £2k for it recently and tbh I did consider selling but I have owned it for the last 17 years and don't think I could part with it now lol
