Hi guys, replacing the shocks and springs on my 87 scala for the GSF Boge gas ones under reccommendation. Howevere, as im sure someone will be aware, there is a bolt described as the lower strut-to-wheel bearing housing lockbolt that needs to be replaced on the front. Does anyone have a link to the part or part number as I can't seem to find it anywhere? thanks

Dave

Yep as mark1gls says 'keep the bolt' use a new nylock nut.

Or you can even keep the nut and use some thread lock.

Speak to the dealers, they should still do the bolts, I just got a load of other nuts and bolts last week to replace the bottom of the suspension etc.

Also, this is probably a stupid question, but can I fit shorter springs, eg 35mm dropped apex ones on standard length boge gas shocks? Thanks

You can, but you shorten hte stroke of hte piston. Ultimately it means that you're not going to get the best ride and will kill the shocks sooner. Best bet if you haven't already is to get a matched shock and spring set.
