Gear-linkage weight

Are these any good? I can't really see the true benefit of having one of these weights. Here's an Ebay link to show what I'm on about...

dont get that one - it wont fit a rocco.
They do work well, I have one on each of the cars - it enables the gear stick to sit at a more right hand drive friendly angle away from the passenger seat.

Would I benefit a track car, tho? Bearing in mind I do quick gear changes and I don't have a passenger seat

if you're strapped in it could well do.

I meant, would the weighted linkage benefit the track car

same thing really, if you are strapped into the car securely then you want to have the gear shift within easier reach- which is exactly what this device does for you.
The shortshift are good too but could be sticky for some in a track car situation I would have thought.

C and R Enterprises do them, it's essentially a thicker version of the existing rod you can see looking down on top of the gearbox/linkage assembly in engine bay.
I am also running a homebrew version as made up by Tony aka redgt2 for his now deceased motor.
haven't got any pics am afraid.
