So I'm on the trawl for electrical / electronic circuits to "add" into my project rocco and decided that it may be of use to some folks who like me were gadget orientated, lol.

So first up - Automatic Full Beam Dipper Designed to automatically dip the cars full beam when oncoming cars approach, it's also adjustable!

Then on fleabay, found a nice auto lights on unit. Say you drive into a tunnel... lights come on, it get's suddenly dark, like when being attacked by a plague of locust. Lights come on.

I am gonna keep trawling til I find the ultimate electrical accessory. The Auto Window Winder Down Unit on one brief press, liek wot you get on modern cars .

I'd like "3 flashes when you press the stalk" indicators like in the 9n... just to save me keep thinking I've just signalled appropriately then thinking "wrong car" ... can't just be me... can it?

yes, I'd just like consistncy, i suppose - and i won't be allowed to disable it on the 9n - so a retro-fit on the rocco's the way...

don't talk to me about jaguars! ... anyway... top of the range? x type? how's that work?

i love this geeky shit. I want a nice "lights on" warning sounder that gives a pleasant ding rather than a nasty buzz. I've got a buzzing relay which i'd make do with but you have to remove the relay that allows the fog lights to come on to fit it. I'd love a solution for this problem, i'm always leaving my lights on. That auto dip sounds dodgy. Surely if it's detecting the oncoming car it's already too late. How can it tell as early as you do? Surely it can't be any more sensitive than once the oncoming car's headlights are fully visible rather than just their glow coming into view which is when i'd normally switch mine off.

There was also a post about the auto dip being a pain... apparently the inventor's original car got totalled when it auto dipped and flashed at a bus's indicators... bus thought he was flashing to let him out... SLAM.

NOT a good idea, whether it's true or not...

My main reason for starting down this route is this I KNOW, it's not purist VW Rocco in the slightest... but I have a plan in my head and I'm seeing it through

I was also thinking about the three flash indicators, and in reality that shouldn't actually be too difficult to do... electronically at least. I am not, however, convinced that standard Rocco indicators will work. I'll have a play as it is something that I'm incorporating so shouldn't be too difficult to test (seeing as everything is going to be off my car anyways and I'm gonna be testing the pug ones!)

Programmable Indicator Cancel Circuit - ie turns off the indicators after a specified time length, e.g. 2 minutes. Uses a PIC controller so some programming of hte chip required

when your looking to overtake on the motorway... three flashes is all you need to tell those behind what your doing.. if you put the stalk right over it never rests as the wheel never moves enough!

I don't think you can generalise like that. Every time you do it the situation's different (unless you're one of these drivers that likes to think that if they indicate, they can just pull out without checking their mirrors and blind spot).

Chip shop last minute pull-in however is an excellent reason.
