okay, it's miles off actually *needing* suspension (bricks will be fine right now) but I'd best budget for the prospect....

Mk2 rocco with a 9A (16v) engine.

IMHO most aftermarket suspension for the rocco is pretty pants, crashy as you like as most suppliers seem to think the nose-weight of the mk2 rocco is the same as the mk1 golf. Er, no.

Maybe a rotten example with bits missing on a carb. but not with Kjet, and certainly not a 16v.

So what's good at the moment? It's not a track toy, it's more of a Gran Tourer, it'll be heavy, what with the 16v and also the ABS and other toys (lots of toys - hopefully) Certainly more than the 900kg that the barest mk2 will weigh in at.

Budget isn't astronomical, but I'd rather spend a bit more the first time, than have to do the job again.

thoughts and opinions welcome..

Hi Giles - i am pleased with the AP Coilovers fitted to my black 16v car last year - with the weight of the aftermarket AC its not as direct as either the GTL on same or Scala on Weitecs but for the money it does the job I need.

hmm curious.

Checked the website briefly, and they list the same part number for the mk1 goof as well as the rocco - not a good start IMO - however they list axle weights (not to be confused with the bodily mass of the G'n'R singer) of 785Kg which is well in excess of the mk2 - my carby scala tips the scales at 600kg front axle - so I'd guess the valver would prolly be 700kg - Interesting stuff, and not bank breaking either.

Will troll more forums for impressions of quality and longevity...

ta. :)
