Cant log into ETKA for some reason, so does anyone know if the warm up regulator from a 1.8i will suit a 1.6i ? Cheers guys.

Hi Mark, ETKA is not clear about any difference between 1.6 and 1.8 but I had a look at the golf cab and early injection models and there are some differences between part numbers shown based on engine code, however the item number (21) on ETKA is the same and all the pictures appear the same for 1.6 and 1.8. Part numbers as follows:
026133403 for DX and KT engines
063133403 for JH engines
049133403A for EG, EH and EJ engines
Regards
Rob

The warm-up regulator heater coil resistance is different between the 1.6 and the 1.8 litre engines
1.6 = 16-22 ohms
1.8 = 20-26 ohms
How that makes any difference in practice though, I have absolutely no idea, although I would guess that it might affect the pressure settings somehow.

Not sure if it's relevant, however, the more resitance in a circuit the more heat generated across a set current.
I'd imagine the 1.8 needs things just that smidge warmer at a guess :)

Mark - I've got my old (1.6) one boxed up in the garage if you need it.
