Anyone heard of a limited slip diff fitted to a rocco?

Hi all!

Has anyone ever come across a LSD fitted to a Scirocco (as standard or as a mod)?????????

Had my car on the ramp the other day and when I spun my NSF wheel, the OSF spun in the same direction

This is very odd as with a standard diff, it should rotate in the opposite direction. Only LSD's should do this???

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

Cheers

Hi

Not a Scirocco, but had a quaife LSD in an 020 box on a Mk1 jetta as a mod

No help on the Scirocco question but you can stick one in the box

Chances are that you have a normal open diff, if you tried it again but with the car in gear i think you'll find the wheels will behave as you expect. I know my car does it and it doesn't have an LSD. Guessing that its down to the resistances and friction between the 3 diff gears vs the crown wheel spinning and turning the output shaft of the gearbox.

Thanks for all the responses. Tim, I'll try it as you suggest on Monday and have another look. :beers:

Hoping to be mobile (for the first time) by Wednesday - but just sprung a rad leak that now needs fixing.
Want to get to Stanford Hall next Sunday
