Mythical Creatures

OK, so along with the Minotaur, Cyclops and sensible politician... I am also on the hunt for information about the following mythical Scirocco creatures, beyond just the wiring diagrams
Heated Seats - now the concept is fairly simple, and I know they appeared on the
Slegato (courteousy of Dr "history is his thing" Dub)
Electrically operated and Heated Wing Mirrors
Ideally some kind soul who has them sitting there would like to donate them to me, hahahahahahhaa... nah, really. I am aiming to rebuild my Rocco with an element of luxury and having these two items would just top the car off nicely, so ANY info as to them would be greatly appreciated, as well as if you DO have them lurking about, particularly the mirrors, and would like to sell them on gimme a shout.
I know this might seem like a wanted ad, but I'm more interested in the info than anything else :)
Now to google aftermarket seat heating / conversions, I neeeeed a warming sensation on my backside beyond the "just peed myself" feeling.

the switch for the seats looks like a standard vw switch, so i reckon you need to go scrapyard trawling. search every car for heated seats and when you find one, remove the heating elements for transplanting under your upholstory and the wiring loom for doing, well, use your imagination....

Yup... and there's plenty aftermarket NEW sets available too.
And now for something additional. Leccy windows. Is there supposed to be a setting on them that does the "one press and it goes all the way down" thing? Mine is "keep yer finger on it til it's where you want it"

It'd be nice, but seeing as I found a set of JUST the heating elements that went for over £180 (

) last week on fleabay, the likelyhood of that happening is pretty slim, c'est la vie.
Aftermarket it's gonna have to be.

that's the down side of ebay. everyone else can see your finds before you can buy them from the comfort of their own wherever. how much do ya think a mint mk1 door would go for on the bay? i got one for under £20 in a scrapper, but then you've got to do a bit of work for it.
you'll pick up a set of vw seats with heaters in, and the switches and loom for under £50 if you go to the right yard. all you then need to o is strip your seats down and rebuild them with the heater in. simples

True enough... although the scrappies round here just aren't that clever anymore.
I shall hunt... the wing mirrors one is hte one that's perplexing me most

rob the innards and switches from something like a polo? some experimentation may be required

I've been looking for a driver side electric mirror for ages, mine had them when I bought it but some pikey kindly ripped one of them off for me. I've yet to come across a set, but I seem to remember someone mentioned that Mk2 Golf ones might fit, or the innards might be the same and interchangeable.

324857501 and 502.
I'm not sure if that is just the loom though.

I really want heated mirrors. Not fussed about electrically adjustable though. Post your findings mate, I'm very interested to find out if there's a way.

just heat only would be very easy. go and find a car with heated mirrors, remove the heating element and fit it to the back of your mirror glass. this may involve smashing your mirror off its plastic backing then fitting a new stick on mirror glass to it, or see if hellfrauds or anywhere can get replacement heated mirror glass

You can pop the mirror glass out on a scirocco. You might break a peg or two but as long as there's a couple left, it'll reattach fairly securely. Is a heated element thin enough to fit between the glass and the adjustable plastic part?

it's normally a film stuck inbetween the glass and the plastic backing.
if it was ever an option on the rocco (and i think it was) you should be able to get replacement mirror glass wih heater. this would just need some wires running to it through the door
