front struts

Set to and fitted new springs to the rocco today. The rear went smoothly, new boge dampers all went together sweet. The front was a nightmare though, couldn't get the stut bolts undone, ended up ragging each bolt to get them off (they're £12 each off vw, just phoned them up haha). The spring cradles/struts are screwed too, they're full of holes. I was gonna re use these and fit them onto a new set of boge turbo dampers I have.

Does anyone have any clues where I could get the spring cradles from, will standard vw ones fit onto these aftermarket dampers. Also has anyone any ideas of somewhere that might sell the eccentric botls on the cheap.

I think I heard someone on here say struts were about £45 each from VW but that was a while ago. You might be better off getting one of the strut+damper+spring kits off ebay and selling on the bits you don't need.

New struts are £97 including the good old VAT from the dealers, I know because I enquired about them last week!!!

That includes the strut insert, the later cars were complete units.
