just wondering if when you wire in a volt gauge it goes in series with a live . or a live is spliced and then negative to an earth.

one wire (probably either black or brown) goes to a permanent -ve (chassis)
the other wire (usually red) goes to an ignition switched +ve

Would like to know how to remove voltmeter. Do I remove the front perspex and pull the voltmeter backwards or other?
Not wanting to force and break it.

normally there are 2 nuts on the back that hold on a U shape clamp. remove them then pull the whole unit out forwards. i'll try and find you a pic...

best i can find. you can see the black U shape bracket with 2 silver nuts holding it in place. the ends of the U push against the inside of the dash and pull the gauge, which can't come all the way thru thanks to the wider surround on it. make sense?
