hey, does anyone know what the cable / pipe is called that im after. its the pipe that leads from the brake servo, as you face it to the left to the engine. the part im after, bear with me, im gonna try and describe it. its yellow with one end large than the other, it has got two small tubes coming out of the side of it, one of them has got a cap on it, the other leads to the vacuum unit. it this pipe that is broken, can i take the cap off of the other tube and connect it to that? or do i need to get a whole new unit? if so what is it called?

The part is a one way air valve. It's job is to hold pressure in the brake servo. If one of the off take vacume pipes is broken and the other is capped off, then seal up the broken one and use the non broken one..

a carefully inserted self tapper of appropriate size usually seals them up nicely

If you wanted to get a new valve - which you cannot as they have been obsolete for some time - it would have come as a complete unit with the pipe to the brake servo attached to it.
