Scirocco Register

I have quite an old MK1,does anybody know the oldest surviving Mk1 production date?Just interested.

My Mk1 ibiza red Scirocco TS was built in aug 74 and registered on 22 11 1974.
Must be one of the oldest.

any pics?
is it on the road?

It has not been on the road since 1990 and is currently stripped down to a shell for resto work.

how long have u had it

I have had it for about 6 years now.
Just missing chrome bumpers and the original tartan seats as it had later black leather storm seats fitted at some point in its life.
I just have too many projects and not enough time but i wont be getting rid of any of my collection.

Don't blame you for not getting rid of it, but try and find some time to complete it.
i had a red 74 many years ago, it is now buried in a field, keep thinking about going up there with a digger.

well it goes like this ;

many years ago, my scirocco was a red ts 1974, which i ran for a year or so, and in that time, spent many an hour pushing it and exstinguishing its engine before it set fire to my girlfriends ( now my wife) shoes. After changing to a better paid job, the desire to aquire a newer mk2 gti overcame me and i succombed - selling on my 74 to some Golf dude who blew it up, i knew this because it was parked at the side of the road with oil running out of it. Later that year after purchasing a second 75 ts, (which needed many parts) i happened to be at my local scrap yard where i spotted old faithful 74 which had been partly stripped just lying there... Some time later i drove past as they were landfilling over the top. So i assume its still there buried!!!

Thats proper old, mines an Ibiza red Scirocco TS built in Oct '74 and registered 27 11 1974. My other three '75 TS cars are Jan '75 Nepal Orange, April '75 White and August '75 Palma Green all the others are later Scirocco GLS '77 Brasil, '78 White and '80 Silver. Got a couple of years missing to complete the set!!!
