Basically..Today, my engine died.
There I was, thoroughly enjoying myself sticking to the arse of an EP Type-R along the A606 near Melton Mowbray when the engine note changed and plumes of thick smoke started pouring in through the heater and out the back of the motor.
I concluded, whilst still driving might I add, that the compression had dropped and that oil had started to get into the cylinders and burning. Arriving at home and checking the oil level I was indeed correct, a pressure test confirmed it.
All 4 cylinder where as good as done for. Piston rings + headgasket = loverly.
Anyway, spunked a fortune at GSF today, the engine comes out tomorrow and monday the rebuild starts.
Heres the problem I'm facing now.
2.0l bottom end + stage 2 head and cams should be good for around 180bhp
Vs
1.8l + stage 2 head and standard cams + Eaton M45 which should be good for around 220bhp.
I'm able to do both but can only afford to do one. I can't decide which route to go down.
Catastrophic Engine Failure!
Re: Catastrophic Engine Failure!
do the cheaper one, not as if you can boot your car about any more with happy snappers every where now eh.
Also leaves you with hard earned cash in your pocket...
