There is some down the a piller, behind the plastic wheel arch linner and I think there is one at the front behind the bumper, thats where they are on my Mk1 guess they are the same on a mk2

Also if its the first time they have been taken off they might be stuck on aswell!

You will probably need a hot air gun and an old screwdriver to get the underseal off the inside of the wing to undo the 3 bolts there.

a good solid sharp knife helps. patience is the key.

Take the plastic inner arch liner out, stick your head in and look at the pillar where the door hinges mount, you should just about see three 10mm spanner size bolt heads, possibly covered by a thick layer of sealer. There is also another at the bottom rear edge of the wing, and two at the front that fasten it to the front panel. As someone has already mentioned, the wing will be stuck on as well as bolted, so if you intend to refit the wing you are taking off, be very gentle and dont be tempted to pull at the wing to release it from the adhesive, or you may pull the wing out of shape.

sorry bud,if you rotate the pic 90 degrees anti clockwise and you can just see the lip of the wing on the Right hand side, you are loooking backwards inside the front arch....

hope that makes sense.

I'm going to tackle my wing now ready for Cosford. Any pointers or pitfalls to avoid? Hope it's not a massive job. I know it's only bolted on but there's loads of sealant under there too nwhich I understand will be rock hard.

some hot to soften the seamsealer. either a hot air gun or a careful wave with a blowtorch. hairdryer probably won't be hot enough to make any real difference
