Hi, almost got my mk1 scirocco GTi up and running after being in bits in my garage for over a year, got it started ok but brakes need bleeding as rear axel's been off for welding so all disconnected etc. Problem is when i got round to bleeding o/s/f brake no fluid was coming out at all. So at the minute the brake pedal goes to the floor with no stopping power at all. Can anyone shed any light on how to cure this, also is there a specific procedure when bleeding all corners of the car eg front first etc.......
Any help greatly appreciated.
Mal.

I believe haynes says start at the furthest point away and end at the nearest.
Try using a pressure bleed system. They are cheap enuf.
and never press your foot all the way to the floor if you do use your foot. You'll screw the seals up inside the cylinder especially on old systems...

could be that the ruber pipe has collapsed inside. you could try unscrewing the bleed nipple and leaving it open for a few hours and see if it gets moving by itself - just make sure you keep an eye on the resevoir ;)

make sure you don't run the pressurised bleed kit at higher pressure than the book says. if you do you risk inverting the seals in the master cylinder. i had a similar problem to you on a mk2 astra years ago. couldn't even get it moving with the pressure kit, so i upped the pressure to 40psi. it got the fluid moving, but i then had to walk to the scrappy for a new master cylinder.
