Have come in contact with a guy selling a "G90" engine, planning a swap in my mk2. I have not seen the engine yet but cant find any informatio on this engine. He said it was a 16v w/ kompressor.

Why cant I fint any info on this engine on the internett?

i dont think they made a 16v supercharged engine as standard.
I may be corrected tho? what sort of power is he saying the engine is pumping out??

around 150 hp he said.
sounds fishy, i dont know. I'm gonna have a look at that engine hopefully on monday.
Is there a G90 in the VW engine lineup at all?

golf limited had a 16v g60 - it was a limited edition handbuilt 5 door mk2 produced (75-80 off) in 1990.

it used a rocco 16v manifold hence the golf boys always sniffing round rocco 16v manifold when looking to do 16v g60's homebrews.

There never was a G90.

The 60 (and 40 on a Polo) was the diameter of the inlet of the supercharger in mm.

G60's pumped out 160 PS.
The G60 16v pumped out 209 PS.

160 is about right for a G60.
i toyed with the idea, but in the end went 16v abf as it kicks out 10 horse's less, and a hell lot cheaper if anything go's wrong..

G60 Limited was built by VW Motorsport. Well over 200BHP and 4-wheel drive as standard. Something like 20 made, christ knows how many are left. Only put into MK2 Golfs, not Corrados dude.

Believe it was still the fastest VW untill that mental R36 thing recently. One recently sold for 12k, safe to say the G60 Limited was a proppa mota.

The engine is currently in a corrado, but he said the engine originally was from a rallye.
IF what he is saying is correct, that it is a 16v w/kompressor..chances are that its one of those rare "limited edition" engines right?

Rallye pumped out 160 PS mate, not a rare 16v but still a nice lump.

without the "limited edition" the rallye was originally a 8v, wasnt it?

so this is my first swap buy, could you give me some pointer on what to look for when I looking at the engine tomorrow? Oil-leakage? what else?
all he said was its a 16v, kompressor and it had been in a rallye. what engine could it be?
