Squeaky driver's side door

My door squeakes on the driver's side. It's not by the hinge, but where the pin and the jaws meet when it's shut (the lock bit) Moving the door up and down using the handle causes it, but it's most annoying when driving as it's always in my ear! Any suggestions?

Do the pins still have the plastic anti squeak part left where the latch would sit when closed? If not then you can either wrap them in tape or buy new pins from VW. I did the latter last year and stopped that particular squeak. I figured the tape could get chewed up and possibly jam up the lock.

Aha! The pin is bereft of the said anti-squeak part. The passenger side has it. So do I need a new pin or just the anti-squeak bit. And if I do need a new bit any suggestions on where to find it? Cheers.

As I said I went for the easy option and bought new pins from the dealers, don't think they were expensive and they certainly aren't hard to swap. They are adjustable though for height and depth so may take a bit of fiddling about to get the new one in the right place again, not too hard though if there are witness marks from the old one to give a starting position.
