towbars?

Just been looking through some ebay listings and photos and such like and I've noticed that there's a large proportion of MK2's with towbars, any idea why? just seems odd that a sexy 80's coupe would have these?

They were quite hard to get. I'd like one for mine so i can tow a bike tralier :)

I have one that came with a package of spares. I have never fitted it so can not be 100% sure it is for a Mk2 although no reason to disbelieve the seller. The other parts were OK and definately Mk2. I could put some pictures up. How would £15 collected from Wigan be?

where does the tow bar bolt to? the one on my mk2 golfs bolted to the rear bumper brackets, i was looking at fabricating one to fit my rocco.
