new waxstat + carb cleaner = engine cut out

ok, basically i fitted a new waxstat, solved my high idle and overrun problem.

then, against my better judgement (the mischievous little shit in me) decided to spray carb cleaner into the carb. everything was cool, it was ticking over perfectly.

then, i took it on a drive round some country lanes, after about five minutes the car would cut out whenever i came to a stand still. so annoying.

do i have a fuel blockage, caused by something the carb cleaner dislodged? if so, i have no idea where to start and all tips are appreciated!

oh i forgot to say, that in between the cut outs, when i have no roundabouts or traffic lights in the way. it drives fine, i can move through gears. just when it comes to a stand still...

after changing the waxstat and setting the timing on mine i also had to turn up the tick over cos it was then ticking over very low.

where the throtle cable connects to the carb (just under the right hands side of the airbox) there is a little clip that you pull off the cable, then you pull the cable towards the front of front of the car and then put the clip back in the next groove.

try this one groove at a time to see if it helps.

You've probably disturbed some dirt when spraying the carb cleaner which has block the air correction or air bleed jets. My advice would be to remove & strip the carb and clean it thoroughly making sure all the jets are free from debris.
