Windscreen replacing

Hello...

Anyone done this themselves? Few questions if you don't mind:
-Can you get away keeping the old seal, provided its pretty decent?
-Are there only 2 types of glass, green tinted and clear? (mine is tinted, but not sure what colour)?
-Is it worth getting a second hand one, and either fitting it myself or paying a windscreen place to put it in?

Thanks all.

Chris

Do you have windscreen cover on your insurance? Doesn't affect your no-claims if you use it and usually around £50 excess.

I'd get professionals to do it - at least if it leaks after they're responsible for putting it right.

I think there are other colours of tint - mine are brown/grey from memory.

Put one in a mk2 golf, prety straight foward, just take strong string and two pairs of hands. Beed od silicone under the seal after and not one leak

That actually sounds pretty reasonable to me...
