New cluch choice with future mods in mind?

Hello all.

My cluch is on the way out, its still driveable but slips from 2nd to 3rd when the powers down, annoying when your racing away from the severn bridge toll.

So ive been thinking is a standard clutch robust enough to cope with such future engine mods like a gti cam and webber carb? Before i forget ive got a 1.8l 1986

Ive seem afew clutchs on the bay, its about forty pounds differnce between a standard cluch and a "sports". Enough for a lower strut brace

Heres what ive been looking at :

Standard http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Sport: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Any thoughts, advice welcome or directions to better quality parts!

For years i had the Sachs power clutch fitted which was a great clutch if a little fierce but they stopped doing it.

So when i changed recently i fitted a normal Sachs clutch and its slipping quite a lot. Now i have (when healthy) only about 140 horses and i don't think the standard clutch is up to the job.

well the black diamond is coming in at about £150 not massively expensive but £100 more than a standard.

Gotta think about when id be doing the cam and carb, probably within 6 months so would make a wise investment.

Any other parts i should think about buying also ie clutch cable etc

cheers for the input

How much power are you expecting to get with a weber and gti camshaft? Dout itll be enough to worry a standard clutch
