Hey guys, got a nasty grumble on the car, thinking its the bearings, am I right in saying that to check their condition, you jack up the car and tug/pull on the wheels to see if theres any play?

Please feel free to insult me if I'm talking cobblers here....

Thanks guys, as always :beers:

That's pretty much it Alex - check with 'half past six' and then 'twelve thirty' hand positions on wheel

You can also rotate the wheels and see if there's any grumbling from the bearings.

If in doubt, it's not a difficult or expensive job to replace them anyway (but don't get lured into replacing the rear brake shoes as that's a swine of a job).
