16V/8V/weber carbed!

Post by Jay4424 »

A mate at work has just put a recond (by him self) VR6 into his Mk2 Golf (which was already a 16v GTI)

anyway, the engine that was in it got fully refurbished before he got the offer and idea of the VR6... valver engine has just been offered to me!

VERY VERY tempted to stick it in to the rocco, use my 8V Mk2 golf GTI as a day to day in the mean time!

...hes asked me to "make him an offer" ..what should that be?

should i bother doign the mod, should i stick the valver in to the golf ... i could then leave the rocco alone, or put the 8v GTI engine out of the golf in to the rocco!! ...currently the rocco is a 1.8l weber carbed car!

your imput guys :-)

cheers, Jay.

would you? ..you wouldn't like a 8V GTI engine? ...or if you take the 16V saves me the hassel!

...half my problemn is, the work i've done to the weber engine as resulted in a basically refurbished enigne as is! ...the golf engine I know will need some work at some point in the not too distant furture... plus it'd mean less hassel when re-wiring, but i want t a valver roccco!

...Monza jake... "out the golf for funds on 8v engine work" eh? you mean sell the golf?, sell the engine from the golf?

sorry I'm confused, its not hard!

Yeah bike carbs have always tickled my fancy but seeing those r1's on that thread and the retro cars 1.3 polo in the flesh has really got me thinking. Looks so good and cheap as...
