weber dmtl tuning issues

Post by james butler »

just thought i would share with you lot some tuning issues ive found due to bad setup and unique things about the weber 32/34 dmtl
firstly make sure there are zero air leaks because 90% of all issues is this
secondly cleanliness- webers are seriously sensitive to dirt! so keep em clean
another very important point is setup baseline, throttle stop needs to set and fuel mix as per these instructions
http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/c ... _best_.htm

don't forget the secondary throttle stop which often gets missed needs to be set fully closed! that tiny screw is hidden on the same side as the primary throttle stop but is in the casting under the carb so easy to miss!

im sure there will be many more to come but these are the most common issues ive found and there is no documentation about the secondary throttle stop which is only there to prevent binding when fully closed

I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!

also check the choke is actually open when the lever is in the open position as you wouldnt believe how common a rich condition is because the choke is partly closed :dash:
