I've just seen this "fully restored" Mk1 Scirocco Storm that sold at online auction for £33k last year:

I'm guessing this was a new record for the Scirocco Mk1 in the UK.

Wow that’s a lot of money, guess 2 people really wanted it.
Shame it’s missing the trim on the roof gutters and trim down the sides.. I would want those for that amount of money

The tailgate window trim also appears missing
I've not done a detailed comparison, but my feeling is that with a marked uptick in Scirocco values over the last few years, auction values seem now pretty much in line with Golfs of equivalent spec and condition.

Chrome trim missing the lower sill, radiator cards missing and the worst thing is some one has fitted 2 rear fog lights, it’s bad enough have 1 as they had to so it would meet uk requirements.
We maybe should stop picking fault as it nice to see another one up and running, but I think the high price which has started this.

The description states there was only one owner, who parted with it in 1990. However, according to the Gov website, a V5C was issued in 2015, which suggests at least one additional registered keeper. There has been no update to the V5C since the auction last year, which either means the transfer has not been registered, or the car is in the hands of a motor trader.
