It’s a long story but I purchased a sapphire blue Scala that turned out to be a pig in lipstick and rather than giving in I then went and got the GL.
It’s in surprisingly good condition body wise apart from a fairly heavy whack in the centre of the rear panel below the hatch which fortunately hasn’t spread to the rear quarters or hatch itself.
My original plan was to get the bodywork done as it also has numerous pin dents and paint fade down down 1 side then gut it to swap interiors with the Scala, black body kit and an ABF which I already have.
After a fair bit of work on the electrics, coolant, fuel system and carb, I have it running half sensible and have decided for now at least to just do the repairs to the rear, using the bits of the Scala, have the bodywork done and run it as it is.
The worst part of the interior is the Dash, I’ve never seen one so badly cracked and as it’s brown I don’t think I’d ever get a decent replacement so may just put the black one in.

Looks in great shape, a distinctive and rare one model-year only colour too I think (1983)?

Yes, it is an 83. No idea where 84 came from. Must be fat fingers. It’s being resprayed the same colour, I had planned to go orange as it’s my favourite as you can probably tell.

Thanks, I take it you mean the buggy? I started building it about 17 years ago and it’s cost me far too much to ever tell the Mrs.
I found these under the rear seat of the GL today.

I think they were once glued over the seat frame rails to protect the paint.
