New Wishbones

Hi, I bought new wishbones for my GTX as the existing are extremely rusty. The main clamps supplied are as shown in the first photo below but my car has currently got those shown in the 2nd photo. I need photo 2 types as they are integral to the inner anti roll bar bushes. My question is has the supplier made an error and sent the wrong items? or did I order wrong? Bought from a good on line supplier I have used before. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Most wishbone kits come with the rear wishbone fitting for cars with out the front antiroll bar, as in the kit you brought.
Can you not re use your old ones? I quick lick of paint will make them look like new…?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes having checked costs and availability it looks like refurb and use the existing ones is the best option.
Cheers.

Wishbone rear mounts for cars with anti roll bars are getting hard to find and now expensive so I think that’s why most kits come with the basic mount.

Cam cover looks good
If the rusty wishbones fitted to the car are genuine VW ones you will find they are more substantial than the Febi ones.
I’ve recently changed mine to a Febi kit and keeping hold of the old wishbones to refurbish at some point, my cars a daily so needed it back on the road ASAP.

Thanks for the advice. The existing look pretty bad to me but I will keep them anyway.

They do look a bit to far gone… have a good check over them when you remove them and go from there.

The bottom ball joints look like they are the original ones if they are riveted on?
If so they have lasted well…

Your wishbones look as rusty as the originals I removed. I put Febi bones back but kept my originals. Will get them blasted and powder coated
