Vauxhall brake upgrade - how old?

Read all the threads re using Vauxhall Tigra/ Corsa / Astra VX calipers and 256mm sonversion but not clear how far back you need to go - seems plenty 2006 on but none much older AFAIK - are they still compatible in this date range - VXR Corsa D calipers seem plentiful but are they still good for the job.
TIA

Older than that I think, but if you want a 256mm set up I have a pair of 16v GTi calipers and Scirocco 16 carriers sitting around that will bolt on once cleaned up for less than the cost of the carrier's. I've upgraded to 295mm 2 piece discs.
