NATIONAL 'MEET' remixed for 2021 - SATURDAY 7TH AUGUST
Posted: Sat Mar 20, 2021 7:44 pm
For those of you who don't engage with us on Facebook, after losing the event altogether in 2020 we're still being impacted by events beyond our control this year.
Campsite - Pete, the hero who’s been behind the campsite for over a decade, threw in the towel and told us he was unable to help this year because of shit pipes and poo-tanks (his words). Hilarious, but frustrating.
Venue - as we suspected, Cosford told us that they weren’t hosting any car rallies until October.
What we're doing instead... #WEWILLMEETAGAIN
There will be a less formal “meet” on Saturday 7th August - this means we can all get together again at the very least.
What we do when we actually get there is the part we’re still working on, but there’ll definitely be the Show and Shine and a relaxed, family vibe, but it’ll be a really stripped back version of what we normally do.
So, here’s where we’ll all be:

There’s space, shower and toilet facilities and hook up.
We’ve got one of the Mafia on a site visit this weekend and we’ll have a better idea next week. Obviously, we’ll keep you all informed.
What we will be doing is having a separate area away from the campsite just for the cars on the Saturday. That way we can arrange everyone as we normally do and make it feel more like something we’re used to.
We’ll put up a more detailed itinerary closer to the time but we’ll be on-site from the Friday until the Sunday morning.
Obviously, this isn’t what we wanted, but we’re going to make the most of it. Please keep in mind that we’d normally be sorted by this point but we’re having to source things like Marquees and all the other bits we think we’ll need.
The main takeaway is that we can’t wait to see you, but please keep in mind that this is just going to be a lot of us in a field looking at cars. At the moment, we can’t foresee us having anything aimed at the kids but that doesn’t mean they aren’t welcome.
See you all soon.
Will, Heath, Sean, Jim - and KATE!
PS - Obviously this COULD all be overridden if the small matter of a global pandemic stages some sort of fightback... in the meantime, stay safe.
