Air intake hose. DX Engine 1990 1.8i to air filter box

The piece of corrugated hose between the bumper and the underside of the air box.
Heritage parts say it’s the same stuff for air cooled and a bunch of other VW engines. Part number 028-129-078 with 50mm diameter. Will this work?
Is there generic tubing that could be used instead ?

The garage i use threw mine away when he changed my engine 8 years ago as he said it was a "puddle catcher"?
Not been a problem except for a slow warm up

F >> 53-L-000 026 60/60X320MM 1 DX
(1) 067 133 853 H air hose
F 53-L-000 027 1 DX
These are the original partnumbers, maybe search for them or replacements
50mm seems too small ?.
Best measure before ordering anything.

Parts for both pre-1990 and 1990-on VINs appear to be 60mm diameter, maybe this:

Have you checked what size you need, maybe measure before you order.
