Scala Hoses - Help!

Evening all,
mark1gls over in the parts forum has just confirmed a niggling doubt I had in my head...that the vacuum hoses in my Scala are not right.
As this is my first Scirocco (I've only had her around a month, and not yet driven), it's not immediately obvious what is wrong and what isn't, aside from some very dodgy looking connectors.
The vacuum hoses, inlet manifold, airbox, metering head are all currently out of the engine bay to be repaired, refurbed, replaced, so now is an ideal time to get this back to how it should be.
So I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on the following:
In the meantime I'll be doing some bedtime reading of Haynes. Many thanks for any help!

- Any pointers on what is currently wrong would be greatly appreciated.
- Is it possible to get a complete set of hoses and connectors for the Scala? As many of these have perished anyway.
