Speedo death rattle??

Post by kidcrewbob »

My speedo works perfectly insofar as it's reasonably accurate and needle doesn't jump or wobble at any speed - nice smooth action however it has a very annoying whining rattle commensurate with speed (obviously I suppose!) - so, I have a replacement cable which I will fit however would like to assess members experience as to whether this has a good / high chance of fixing the racket or is it more likely to be the clock drive itself?

TIA
Bob

From previous experiences of wonky speedos, new cable usually does the trick.

9 times out of 10 it’s the cable, you could try and push the original cable in the engine bay towards the instruments and see if that makes any difference?
