Hi I'm after some advice regarding bump stops
Looking to upgrade the suspension on my GTX with Eibach springs 40mm drop and Bilstein gas struts
I've got 2 sets of shorter bump stops given to me but also the standard ones that came with a standard top mount kit.

Will it improve the suspension using the shorter bump stops or should I use the standard rubber ones that came with the kit (black)
The shortest are yellow powerflex ones that are used but still in good condition, I have no idea how old they are would they degrade given they are used and have dirt grease ingrained in them
The red ones I think are prothane ones that come in 3 parts so they can be made to 2 different lengths

Has anyone used any of these? Are they any good? Which ones should I go for?

The best ones are pale yellow foam type with a bit of give. Rubber is firmer. The poly ones will feel like driving over a railway sleeper when you bottom out on a pothole. Length is crucial, there is hardly any travel before these come into play. I think I used SKF fronts from a Mk4 Golf, I used the same Eibach springs as you, SKF part number VKDP 33153 T . can't remember on the rear. HTH

Thanks for the reply. Just what I needed to know. Didn't want to compromise comfort that much so don't think I'll be fitting the poly ones.

I found a few on eBay which look like that same material, but they seem longer than the ones you mentioned.
The Bilstein ones are shorter but double the price.

I have these for my rear shocks. Will they do the job?

For length, the simplest way to get it close is to subtract 35-40mm (your spring drop) from the originals which are:

Rear 171 512 131 A = 71mm
Front 357 412 303 E = 84mm

I like to use autodoc to compare makes of a part, if the bump stop is white or yellow, it is likely the nicer foam type
