Fuel hose replacement

Hi all,
I need to replace the fuel hoses on my rocco, hate to admit that they are the originals and whilst they are in excellent shape I worry with E5 being used that they may be at risk of degrading. Its the standard 1.8 8v carb engine.
Does anyone know what ID size would be suitable for it? I'm looking at some suitable replacements and think I'll opt for some Gates Barricade hose if I can find any in the right size.

He may be sold out but he usually can get more stock when required...

if you want to replace the steel lines then 8mm copper micro bore works well and what i used.
the rubber hosing i used good years fuel hose and it has lasted very well but for the life of me i cant remember the part number/product code.
alternatively you could try the plastic fuel line designed to run E5 but ive no idea the life span of the stuff or how easy it is to fit.
if you do decide to use plastic you will need more fixings than standard to make sure its secured to the floor properly so it doesn't hang down.

I'm just looking at replacing the rubber hoses in the engine bay, the metal lines are fine but as I say I really want to get these 35 year old hoses changed. I've managed to find some with an ID of 6mm, would that be okay? I don't want to go too small and have trouble after changing them.

I’ve just replaced a chunk of fuel line with this after doing a chunk of research into fuel line that good quality and ethanol resistant. Not cheap but I’m hoping I don’t have to replace it again as it’s a job I’ve done a few times now in the last few years due to old hose perishing very quickly.

Just watch out for fakes. There is inferior quality stuff out there which is very dangerous given the E5 ethanol content fuel these days.
Just google fake SAE J30 R9 hose....

cohline or gates should be top quality though

Yep it's the fakes that I worry about, I did buy some hose a short while back stated as E5 compatible but upon arrive it was quite poor quality, decided I'd rather trust the originals. You'd think with the introduction of E5 the market for hoses would be regulated a bit better, afterall it's quite a dangerous part should it fail.
I've opted for some Gates brand in 1/4 inch ID which should do the job.

I bought some a couple of years ago to replace the hoses near the engine. The OEM part number is N0203571 and the original has an ID of 7.6mm which means some standard sizes are not a good fit. I got mine on eBay from JustKampers and it seemed reasonable quality. It still seems to be available on their website.

I used stainless steel Oetiker single ear clamps to fit it. I bought some 14.5mm ones around the same time so assume that is the right size. An alternative would be the stainless steel screw clamps sold specifically for fuel hose use but I’d avoid standard jubilee clips since they aren’t recommended for fuel line.
