Scala "black" tail lights

I am trying to return my Scala to as factory as I can and the brochure says they came with 'black' tail lights. Have read through the resources on here and the tail lights pictured on Scala's seem to have black stripes running through them.

I am already looking for tail lights which are not cracked, should I be looking for black ones which are not cracked? Is there a DIY method to get my existing lights back to original spec?

Thanks

Hi
You could get some 3mm pinstriping & use it to mask in between the ridges & spray tint or spray paint the lenses then remove the pinstriping. It worked for me after some clot reversed into my nearside light & either I couldn't find a decent Scala tinted rear light or people were asking the earth for them because they were tinted!

Scala lights were standard lights with black stripes. Just use an oil based paint pen with a thick nib or pin striping as mentioned above.

It was the GTX that had actual tinted lights.

Black paint on a very lightly loaded gloss type mini roller worked for me some years back...

Yeah, still look good! Just make sure the lights are super clean first

Might try the lacquer technique as I don't have a heat gun.

Can anyone confirm that the scala was the only model to have the black pinstripes? I have one on my '92 Gt2 and one normal(not black) and need to know what it was originally.....
Any ideas guys?🤔

Just as a note, when I did the lacquer I used some Simoniz stuff I had lying around. The first few coats there was bits that were really shiny and others which were less so but I noticed the indicator bit (which slanted downward) was a perfect finish. So I propped the whole unit on a 45 degree angle and spayed from above. Even finish.
