Where i have started driving my Rocco again recently i have noticed that i am sometimes getting a small amount of over-run when i switch off the engine.

What causes this?

A number of things can cause this - but commonly caused by leaky injectors.

Mines a carb, possibly a carb problem?

Not sure on the dizzy timing... Don't see how that could cause overrun really, it should be a fuelling issue. If yours is a carb, I couldn't give you a decent answer I'm afraid... Perhaps an over-rich mixture?

Can be caused by incorrect timing, or a build up of carbon on the tops of the pistons, requiring a 'decoke'. this causes the hot carbon on the pistons to carry on firing the fuel, but that doesn't happen very often these days with improved fuel.
Sorry - showing my age.

Will get it tuned then. Have noticed it pinking a bit in the last few days too  so its pointing in that direction.
