Servo / Non Return Valve

Hi

I am trying to replace the non return valve on the pipe that runs from the servo to the inlet manifold. The problem is I can't get the old valve off. It doesn't unscrew. It looks like pressed or crimped in the factory? Any ideas?

Thanks

think i needed to heat mine up to remove and fit a new one.might have even chopped old one off and heated the pipe to fit the new one.

I slightly over did the heat and knackered the pipe. Can I replace the pipe with a different piece of pipe? Can I use a different type of pipe of the same diameter? Does it have to be rigid like the original?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I would guess it would need to be the same sort of rigid pipe as it’s a vacuum hose to the brake servo.....?

you can use rubber hose but you have to put a metal spring inside it to prevent the vacuum collapsing the pipe.
THE SPRING MUST ALSO BE LARGE ENOUGH NOT TO GET SUCKED INTO THE ENGINE!!!
i had to do this on a couple of cars as the origenal moulded pipe is unobtainium.

Hit the scrapyard and find something vaguely similar and make it fit. Think I used one from a mk3 or mk4 golf last time

I bought 10mm flexible servo pipe from local auto factor.

Yes. Appears to be ok.
