Electric Engine?

Was chatting to a friend tonight who suggested I put a Toyota Prius Hybrid engine in one of my cars which is in need of an engine, anyone done this? App the thing about the Toyota hybrids is the cells can be replaced individually and bad battery cells can be easily located - the whole system can have as many batteries as you can squeeze in. All news to me, but interesting, esp given the London car taxes on older cars.

Was that sacrilege? The car is a recent acquisition that was bought for parts that's too good to trash, so I thought it would make a good 'experimental' project. I already have a mint car I use daily.
Anyone got a flux capacitor laying around?

Fitting an electric motor seems to becoming the new thing to fit in a classic car, I’ve seen VW camper vans and even a 2CV at the weekend.
Cost, weight and life span of the battery is the only down side, you will need to beef up the brakes and possibly the suspension but I guess it’s how much extra weight you add.
It’s one to think about and I recon we will see more classics cars with electric power....

Hahaha.. I won’t lie, I hate Prius. Even the tail lights piss me off.
On further digging, the VW hybrid options are there. How could I flip the bonnet and see anything but VW.
I just have to wait for people to write of the new ranges, should be a matter of weeks.
